Refurbished Office


The Brief

Our client provided a clear brief. They are a fast growing events company and the design not only needed to accommodate growth and agile working, but also had to attract top talent from outside of Central London. The Landlord had provided a high specification CAT A refurbished office and the layout needed to carefully consider locations of the exposed HVAC system, to limit unnecessary expenditure on its relocation.

The Solution

We felt that an open 'flexible working and meeting space' in front of a centrally located tea point on the lower level, would not only provide a nice flow to the office and encourage communication. This allowed for future expansion by reducing the soft seating areas as the company grows.



Our client required a large formal boardroom and as the rest of the lower level was open, we designed a semi enclosed waiting area, highlighted by a full coverage wall wrap. This space would not only provide a comfortable waiting area for visitors, but also allow for private discussion area without the need to book the meeting room.
The open plan area was located on the mezzanine floor as the ceiling is a particular feature and we could keep all of the staff in one area, to help maintain a 'team' feel, with noise dissipated due to the capacious room.

The desking was laid out around a central high backed sofa for quick, 'ad-hoc' discussions and an internal meeting room was placed close to the directors.

Branding is extremely important to our client and a back lit sign was placed overlooking the open plan area, which is also visible from the informal break/agile working area on the lower level.



The internal meeting room provides a more intimate feel and the requirement was for good sound attenuation. Most of the room is formed from solid partitioning. We suggested a double glazed Komfort 'Sonik' door and side glazed panel, so that light could permeate from the open plan area, whilst maintaining the sound integrity.
