Introduction and aim

Interior Property Solutions Ltd is an experienced office fit out and refurbishment company, operating from its Head Office in Barnet, Hertfordshire. We offer our clients a ‘turn-key package’ including: Office Partitioning, Electrics and Data, Suspended Ceilings, Floor Coverings, Tea Points, Decoration, Furniture and Air-Conditioning.

We recognise that our operations result in emissions to air and water and the generation of waste. We comply with legislation regarding these issues and continue to reduce the environmental impacts of our business and operate in a responsible manner. This policy describes how we work tirelessly to achieve our aim.

Responsibility

This environmental policy applies to all of our operations including management, office services, site operations, delivery and procurement. Our Managing Director is responsible for ensuring that the policy is implemented. However, all employees have a responsibility in their area to ensure that the aims and objectives of the policy are met.

Resources

We ensure that resources are available to enable us to achieve our objectives and targets.

Objectives

During 2020 and 2021, we aim to:

  • Encourage and improve the recycling of materials removed from our sites and obtain certificates from the recycling centre.
  • Reduce the generation of general waste by carefully planning at the office design and procurement stages.
  • Carefully select suppliers and manufacturers based on the source of their materials, use sustainable materials wherever possible.
  • To continue to comply with the ‘Considerate Constructors Scheme’ mandate.
  • Continually assess for methods of improvement after each project.

Targets

To achieve our aims, we have set ourselves the following targets:

  • Inform all suppliers and manufacturers of our environmental policy by August 2021 and, thereafter, all new suppliers and manufacturers.
  • Define good practice for reducing site waste, ensure all site operatives receive training in good practice by August 2021 and incorporate this training into the induction programme for new site staff.
  • Seek to continually improve our environmental impact by reviewing our policy regularly and when significant changes occur in our operations or in legislation.
  • Consider the environment at the design stage and when specifying materials.

Monitoring and auditing

Progress against these objectives will be monitored through monthly management meetings. We are monitored by the ‘Considerate Constructors Scheme’ surveyors.
